After several straight weeks of shooting for a magazine project, I had to finish an article on marriage. I was having transition issues so I packed up my camera, macro lens, and tripod and headed out to the orchard. Most of the blossoms are gone now but there’s still much beauty in the transition stage between flower and fruit. The blueberry bushes were a pleasant surprise. Since bleeding heart is one of my favorite flowers, I grabbed a few shots from our front yard. And then I sat down and wrote—for three straight hours.
